Ilana Glazer is one of Broad City's co-creators. She grew up in New York City and started her comic career at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (UCB). In 2009, she started a web-series with Abbi Jacobson of the same name, and their project received positive attention and praise.
The two worked with Amy Poehler (one of the show's producers) on a script that was then sold to FX, but the project was cancelled. Comedy Central then purchased the script and ordered a pilot. Glazer appears on the Comedy Central series as a fictionalized version of herself called Ilana Wexler.
Glazer's other credits include a starring role in How to Follow Strangers, and an appearance in the holiday comedy The Night Before.
